    pre Jambos game

In the press that 8 Motherwell fans were arrested after disturbance at Tynecastle before the game up there.

I took the car up and running late saw the shadow boxing at first hand. I honestly find it well out of order that any well fans should face retrospective action for what went on that day. From what I saw there was a large group of Hearts at the away end, the guys that were fighting looked nothing more than well fans standing up for them serfs. The stewards tried to close the gate, this would have locked all Motherwell fans out, there were Women, aulder dudes and kids still trying to get in the away end. We stopped the steward closing the gate because the hearts guys could have over run the away end. I asked ( for the first time in my life) for the guys to call the Police, there were none any where near it. They closed the turnstiles to everyone still outside and by the time everyone was in there was still no police..
I dont have a lot of patience for the bois, but they wer

What I meant was I've been to 95% of Motherwell's games over 40 years and in 100% of those i've never found myself in any altercation with Police , Stewards or Officials. Even in the days of the casuals. As I said its not difficult to go to game enjoy it come home or go the pub without getting into bother.

You get folk acting like complete and utter knob ends at games and as soon as they are met with equally Neanderthal behaviour from Police or stewards we get the "Heavy Hands Empty Stands" bollox... Some of the behaviour of some of our supporters particularly at St Mirren and Partick Thistle recently deserves a good swift boot in the stones. Trying to watch a game when some of these f@nnies are acting like monkeys is a real pain in the tits. The saddest sight of all is some of our 70s hard men trying to join in when it kicks off wie ther dodgy hips & beer bellies

Sorry Stevie, was being a smart arse bud.
I agree with you, maybe a bit OTT with my point. Don't condone bother for bothers sake.
My point was that I felt the majority that were involved were normal (as much as a well fan can be normal) the hearts mob cause bother every game, well documented, they had come round to the away end to bushwack any Motherwell fans. The stewards n cops were no where to be seen (they obviously had a method of capturing and following up though).
Just felt the guys had little choice but to stick up for them selfs.
    Take your points though.
