    The cream is positively rising

    As it always does when PFC get in gear. Automatic promotion I hear you say. Well lets hope. It would be wonderful to see the South Coasts historically most successful club pushing on again.

    BTW if your is clash derived saw them do Rock The Casbah at Pompey Guildhall years back. I think it was when they were dragging the armadillo and Mick Jones wore a paper bag on his head. Great band!!!!!

    I liked them in the early years. Never a big fan really. Thought they developed into a 'listen to us, we're better than you' sort of band. Classic, yes. But I don't like being lectured to. That's what they ended up doing.

    Gotta disagree, for me most of the music I like involves some sort of message.

    It could be Morrissey harping on about meat, The Stones about Vietnam, The Jam and socialism or Joe Strummer rambling on about his dislike of Thatcher.

    You don't have to agree with it all but you can still like the sound and not think you are being dictated to.

    As Strummer wrote;
    “Train in Vain” (1979): “But you don’t understand my point of view/I suppose there’s nothing I can do”

    He was a total f*ck up a lot of the time and would be the first to admit it but I don't believe he ever got too up himself.

    The Clash finished in 83 so they probably did have a lot to say in their 7 years, I loved a lot of their stuff, (rock the casbah not one of their finest efforts but I like the title.)

    I haven't a clue what any musician under 25 thinks about anything, not sure that is a good thing.

    Talking of Cream they wrote;

    "Blue Condition"

    Don't take the wrong direction passing through,
    Instead of deep reflection of what's true,
    For it's a combination of judgements made by you
    That cause a deep dejection all the way through.

    No relaxation, no conversation, no variation
    In a very dark blue, blue condition.

    ....how apt.
