    Bolton to Leave Euxton Training Base by Easter...

    Bolton Wanderers will bid farewell to their Euxton training base in the coming days, with players set to report to Macron Stadium after the Easter period.

    After more than two decades at Euxton, Wanderers agreed to a £2.2million sale of the premises to near neighbours Wigan Athletic in February, as the club, then under ownership from Eddie Davies, looked to raise capital that would allow them to stay afloat.

    Players trained at Macron Stadium last week, as they prepared for Saturday's humiliating defeat at Bristol City, but they are expected to be based at the Eddie Davies academy site in Lostock when they report back for pre-season training in the summer.

    Interim Bolton boss Jimmy Phillips said: "I know we've just sold Euxton but we've got a training facility at Lostock with seven or eight really good pitches and a couple of artificial surfaces.

    I wonder if the move away from Euxton has had an effect on the players because before the Bristol City game they trained at the Macron if it did have an effect we are in big trouble,i think the players are gutted that there playground at Euxton has gone!
