    OT: Panama Papers

Ok this one for young Roger as there's mire to this than the run of the mill accounts.

What's going on and is it an attempt to politically discredit certain world figures. Pugin is the obvious one but the other is the islandic president as they changed their countries charter and managed to grow in the recession rather than play the world banking game?

Few typo's in there Rats but think I know what you are saying. The world is a corrupt place unfortunately with almost every if not all countries not showing 100% transparency or legality on a day to day basis. On a tax front it comes back to the avoiding versus evading issue. Very topical over here on Craggy Island.

Whats going on is clearly somebody somewhere has the ability to embarrass those in power who if not actually corrupt, are hypocrites as they squirrel money away in tax havens, whilst imposing austerity on the rest of us.

If people haven't sussed how the world economy is skewed in favour of the few by now then they never will, this just shines a spot light on how the very rich don't pay their fair wack in society. Are neither honest about it nor intend to be.

That's a very cynical thought, I'm sure that the "ruling classes" have our best interests at heart.

I know...dreadful aren't I? Be suggesting that the political class might just include more than it's fair share of pa edophiles next, that the current government might not have the best interests of the NHS at heart or that it's patently ridiculous that the Hillsborough disaster enquiry is still going on...twenty seven years (next week) after the event.
Thank God for our political masters and the good old 'ruling class' eh? Long live the Bullingdon Club. ;-)

There are probably more of the 'philes in Sunderland FC (albeit not any longer) as a %age than there are in government!

Will be interesting to see some detailed information on this as opposed to sensationalist journalism aimed at people the public might have heard of - I'd guess 99% of the people on these "papers" have never been heard of by Joe Public. I suspect I must be probably on there somewhere!!

Interesting Saddam Hussain's crew must have used a different firm of lawyers when routing MEDP's Satan money out to Panama (backhanders on oil and arms deals running into the billions) otherwise he would have headed this list. From here it allegedly got laundering back into real money via EU loans
