Steve Thompson - The Good Guy

No not the snake in the grass but Steve, "Steven" Thompson, St Mirren Striker. Played his last game on Sunday, and hanging up his boots.

How appropriate it was against The World Famous Glasgow Rangers, his boyhood and adulthood heroes. Not just any old Bear, but one who got to wear the famous blue jersey on the pitch at five star Ibrox. Maybe not the greatest striker ever to wear The Colours, but gave 100% for The Rangers. And who could forget him scoring on the final day of 2003 season, a goal in its own way every bit as important as wee Arteta's pen at the end.

All the best big man - good luck to you. Look forward to seeing you back in your usual seat in The Colpand Rear next season.
