is it a straight bat lambert playing with

what we need to know is how much did lambert want to spend was he pricing himself out of ewood so he can go to celtic. he as not proved he is good enough to spend millions on his form since coming to ewood only ward and graham look good enough for the rovers playing killigan at left back when he can not play there as this been a way out of ewood for him. some supporters seem to think he will get a pay off well he won;t they must keep his back room staff so if he wants them to follow him someone will have to pay money to release them from their contracts. we need a manager the venkys can trust

I am not totally sire why some are getting hung up upon the whys and wherefores of PL.
Just like a couple of others in the post (very briefly) under Venkys dictate, he is about to become history.
I would have thought all our concerns and focus should be upon - what next?
Venkys and an others are still around and still calling the shots.
I don't really see PL contracting himself a get out clause as something underhand. I can only speak for myself in saying in considering Venkys 'record' I reckon I may have done the same myself.
So he's maybe asking for more than they are willing to shell out, face saving agenda or not, most on here seem to be saying likewise as far as I can tell ie it's gona take a large amount to put us on anything like a decent footing in comparison to the 'big guns' coming down, not to mention those just failing to make the jump this time.
LFC falling foul of FFP likewise Bournemouth and which others?
Yes it would be great if we could find this Svengali who ca

Despair, I still feel that Lambert was wrong to walk. It was always going to be a challenge, and it WAS always going to take more than one season.
What we DON'T know is if Venky's have broken a promise to him about the resources that were going to be available in the summer.

Lambert was clearly a last gasp attempt at promotion THIS SEASON. It hasn't worked and now a new approach has become necessary.

It was a hell of a long-shot, though, Saxo. From where we were when he took over, we would have had to pick up 61 points in 30 matches, just to guarantee the play-offs. That's 2.03 points-per-game.
Burnley, at the top, are on exactly 2.00 points-per-game!
Was it ever realistic? (Not that Venky's understand "realism"!)

You've maybe both 'got it' !

Who thinks PL came in and said 'I can do it'? I don't.
Who thinks Venkys were 'capable'? of thinking it was on despite him frowning over their wishes/desires? I do.
Did they suggest that money could be made available in order to achieve? I do.
Did PL warrant this cash injection based upon his so far achievements ? Jury's out, as 'on the face of it' - no.
Do most/all of us think/believe PL's statement of 'its all about the summer window and next year' was valid? I do.
Does Venkys decimation of our board structure concern us? It bothers me.

Nail on head Despair. I've banged on about the need for a board of directors since the bald egomaniac was put in charge. Without one, and a decent one at that, the club can only carry on its lingering decline. After many years with a season ticket, I'm now thinking it's away games only next season. I've had enough. I do think they are well intentioned but stupid. But they appear unwilling to learn, so it might be time to accept that Ewood isn't a place to go until Venky's finally sell up for a £1 and cut their losses.

Dan, this is what I am trying to get across, and you yourself clearly is a reflection of that.
They are not 'knights in shining armour' they are the culpable ones for the state we're in.
Their 'inbuilt' traits and behaviours are what are hindering real progress.
If they would just step away and put real football people in to control things, with virtual total autonomy, there is a chance that some semblance of recovery could be realised.
As 'penance' their dealings would be simply to financially aid the balancing of the books.
That is not though what is being announced (IMO) by Cheston. So I am afraid it will not cut very much ice with many, even the majority of the supporter, such as yourself.
