British people as a characteristic have a demanding, self indulgent culture of entitlement, offendedness, self pity, and over protection. Its as much to do with the mamby pamby left as it is to do with the daily mail classes, the mumsnet brigade and those Princess Di cry babies.

One of the problems the country has is folk trying to blame one side (eg the left) for everything and rendering themselves completely unable to deal with the problem (which is also one of the problems with the immigration debate).

I dispute your claim that blaming Labour for everything is wrong. In science for every action, there is an equal and opposing action. For every normal and upstanding citizen, there is a cnt. And it votes red.
