"Ray McKinnon has informed Raith Rovers of his intention to resign, clearing the way for him to bed Dundee United’s new manager.

An announcement is expected from the Tannadice club on Thursday following talks this week between McKinnon and United chairman Stephen Thompson.

Raith say they have already begun the search for a new manager."
