Hull take the lead on 75mins and within minutes are rolling around the floor wasting time, who'd of thought that?
Just shows what could have been without that abomination of a first leg...
I feel really ****ed off!!!
We would have beaten either of those teams today on that performance.........makes me even more mad when I think about that first leg at home!!!
What was wrong with getting Pearson on board when Mel got rid of Clements? Wasted opportunity.
It does'nt say much for the championship looking at the 2 finalists. Top 2 worthy of promo, Brighton deserve to go up on seasons performance. None of the rest, us included, worthy of promo!! Next season will be tougher.
Agreed, yesterday opened a raw wound for many DCFC fans and I guess Mel tried take away some pain by announcing on Friday. In hindsight if Clement had to go, for what ever reason (still shrouded in mystery ....) the following should /could have resulted:Originally Posted by sheffieldrams

I thought it was suggested that there was a clause in - or condition of - Pearson's severance settlement from Leicester that prevented him from working for anyone else for a year. Not sure if that's true and I make no claim to being ITK, but it would certainly explain things.
Either way, we missed our chance in that horrible 70 minutes in the first leg against Hull. Done now, no point in opening old wounds and beating ourselves up over what might have been. Mel's done his best to sort things and shown his ambition...time to move on and look to the future now.
That's complete and utter rubbish. All contracts are now based on managers severance packages being linked only until they find another job and they are bound to look for and take up other positions. To even suggest a clause in any deal to stop someone plying their trade is actually illegal. These clauses some companies have tried in the past to put into contracts that you won't work for a competitor are unenforcible.
As for the post above about why wasn't Pearson taken in in February and at least giving us a play off final finish shows how deluded some people are and how expectation I've reason has gone out of the window. As much as we did well to make the playoffs there is a fine line that we could easily have missed out completely with someone from outside the club coming in and not knowing the players.
What's more concerning is that there are some clearly thinking we are now guaranteed going up next season when it took Pearson a few years at fester!!!
Wind your neck in Ratty...which bits of, 'I thought it was suggested'...'not sure if that's true' and 'I make no claim to being ITK' did you not understand?
It was suggested a while ago - can't remember who by - as a possible explanation...that's all. I make no claim to be an expert in the area of employment law...perhaps you are.
Don't think people are 'clearly thinking we are now guaranteed going up next season' either. The consensus just seems to be that we'll stand a better chance of promotion now that we have a strong and experienced management team in place and that it's good that Mel's got things sorted quickly.
I have to agree wholeheartedly with questioning why this appointment wasn't made sooner.
There has to be some kind of plausible explanation, if there isn't then the answer is nothing less than incompetence.
Clement had little experience, so to replace him with Wassall was the most bizarre of choices - a man with absolutely no experience at all. Our assumption was that we had one or two targets that were not available until the season ended. Yet we have now hired a guy who has been out of work for a year.
Maybe Pearson said he wanted the full season off to brush up on his golf? Who knows but giving Darren the job till the end of the season and talking **** about promotion not being the priority was nonsense.
Even if Pearson hadn't got the side into the top six, he would at least already know the players and their personalities as a group and individually, so he would now have a clearer idea of what he needs to do over the summer.
It's done now, we can't change anything
