WHO is better ? KEOGH or SHACKELL ??

I would have said Shackell by a mile a year ago.....now...I'm not so sure.

Its a tough call.............as i'm no Keogh fan.......

BUT Shackell is past his best....and Keogh keeps on keeping on.

    I'm sitting on the fence.

    EVEN STEVEN.

Both have their strengths and limitations imo. Amazed at quite how poor Shackell has become with the ball at his feet...probably the worst passer of the ball at the club, but he has great positional sense, is good in the air and is never 'bullied'.
On the other hand, while Keogh's distribution can be erratic, he is generally more mobile and very good at bringing the ball out of defence, has a great 'never say die' attitude' but is more likely to get caught out of position.
Unfortunately neither of them appear to be genuine captaincy material and as for 'who is better'...I'd say Keogh shades it but has definitely benefitted from Shackell's consistency over the season.

The sum of the parts is less than the whole. They compilment each other well.

Shackells distribution and sometimes his mobility lets him down. Keogh is quicker, always gives his best and has battled for his place in the team. Not much between them otherwise. The new manager can get a bit more out of them but I personally don't think there is much more to come.

On last seasons showing Keogh. Swept the board on poty awards. Shackell's distribution for a well paid professional footballer is way short of the mark. Strong in the air and throwing himself in front of a bus (hence number of deflected own goals). I guess if he had it all he wouldn't be at Derby.

As most have said its a tough call.

I actually think when Shackall drops it off to others and keeps it simple he looks a class player. His distribution lis not so good when he try's to pass longer. His positional, aerial, and defensive strength we all know about.

Keogh's problem is consistency and always seems to have a mistake in him.

They are a good combination and I'm not sure we need to break this partnership next year.

We never looked like conceding when Clement had them drilled.

I'll go for Shackall by a whisker,

    Cheers

Having been to 21of aour away matches I have to give it marginally to Shackel I've lost count of the points he has saved us Fans like to have a go about his distribution but he is defender he more than makes up for that with preventing goals Have you ever watched Huth and Morgan for Leicester. Neither of them could pass water but they can certainly defend.

Shackell is a better defender, reads the game better.
Keogh is better with the ball but needs a Shackell beside him. Never been a Keogh fan, big heart, yes..
I guess they kinda worked as a partnership last season.
Get off the fence, thought you were a Londoner? shacks wins it.

I think they are both very good...and compliment each other.
Just wish Keith didn't think he was beckanbaur and do the basics first.
