Their summer long search to sign an experienced no2 keeper finally paid off this week...

Carlisle United have today signed keeper Max Crocombe on a one-year deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2017. Auckland-born Crocombe, 22, moved to England at a young age and has represented his country at all levels up to U23, and received his first call up to the full international squad in March 2015. He started as a youngster with Buckingham Town before being spotted by Oxford United. He signed scholarship forms with the U’s and signed his first professional deal with the club in 2012. He had loan spells with Nuneaton, Barnet and Southport and left Oxford by mutual agreement to join United this week.

Daz has said that name to me a couple of times this summer. It was thought Crocombe was heading to Blackpool but it turned out to be further North to Cumbria. I have to trust John Keeley, he will have a mass of experience of keepers, who the good ones are, who aren't. If he gets it wrong I will be the first to moan.
