OT: the future's Bleak, the full back's Baird

Can I really believe the first Pearson side includes Baird and excludes Hughes (and Russell, martin and Butterfield for that matter). Ah well. at least we cannot say "same old same old". Knew Olsen was questionable but is Forsyth also injured?

    Hughes left out shock horror.

Maybe Pearson doesn't listened hype and actually looks himself backed up by the stats that say..... Actually henning that good!!!!

Would you get £500k for him now?

I'm not sure who Henning is?

Good start in Championship for Burton, albeit against weak opposition. Well they might win one half a game this year then

Forsyth's partner/wife went into labour Rog...bit bloody inconsiderate I thought.

Weird starting eleven which was followed by us finishing with arguably the slowest side imaginable.

Bit of an anti-climax really. Despite Rat's predictable rubbish about Hughes we looked better when he came on but then playing with Johnson was like playing with ten men.

On the plus side...Blackman looked to have improved, Shackell played well and Hughes and Butterfield looked decent when they eventually got a chance. Other than that...not much tbh, but Brighton are a decent well organised side who appreciate the value of good quick wide players and know how to use them.

Shockingly poor team selection. Very incohate team performance. Blackman...oh dear.

Sorry Mr Pearson...you leave Hughes out? And you think Blackman has huge potential? And in desperation you imply we'd have lost in previous seasons rather than draw.

Thought Blackman was better than your spelling of 'inchoate' Ella (but I did have to look it up).

Seriously, thought he was impressive for the first fifteen minutes when Derby were on top. After that he was nothing special and I agree about the team selection...just odd.

Didn't hear the post match interview, stuck in the after match traffic the cricket was more entertaining than listening to Radio Derby's wristslasher phone in.

Three things were clear to me...without Hughes and/or Butterfield we remove the brains and guile of the side, playing Martin in that final formation we ended with is a complete waste of time and that's not Martin's fault and for God knows how many seasons running we are desperate for an on pitch leader. Keogh does his best, although I thought he was untypically off his game today, but even when he plays well he is not someone who can grab the team by the scruff of the neck and inspire.

Early days but please, please, please find us a leader and know when to inject a bit of pace Nigel.

Right one match in and I'm in full angry mode.. Pearson FFS, what was that starting 11? You pissing on your turf to show them who is boss. What spanner thought that Baird and Johnson was a good mix?
Johnson... WTF has he done in preseason to impress Pearson so much? Same old Johnson of last year.. Get rid asap.
Thought Blackman was half decent at the start tbf.. His team selection took any optimism of a new season out of the day.. You could feel it drain from the crowd as soon as the team was released. South Stand? Might as well have been in Costco, more noise in there.

I am all for him mixing things up but let's get one thing right Mr Pearson.. You pick Will first and then the rest.. Capiche.
Only the first game but we were lucky Brighton were not at the races as well.

Same old issues on tempo and movement.
Bored today if I am honest.
