Nobody really cares about this result. It was good to see the fringe players hold their own but getting the three points at Crewe on Saturday is all that matters now.
Totally agree with that...As I said farewells to my Cov family my Son and I had spoken of "What did we learn about Pompey tonight" ? Well our Reserves tried their hearts out and could have beaten a League 1 team who have lots of problems on and off the pitch. KB was his usual self, all over the place, putting a shift in. He was definitely clipped for the Penalty but blew the big chance to put us 3.2 up in time added on after a lovely pass from substitute Hunt on the break. Great to see Evans back getting time on the pitch (after that dreadful act of thuggery at Plymouth) plus Linganzi had a very good first half before fading no surprise. Hunt impressed me in the short time he was on plus 2nd half sub Conor C ran his heart out as he always does. Apart from that I didn't see anything which would put pressure on the team that Cook picked last Saturday. There were a lot of ok performances while the likes of Bass, Tollitt and May experienced valuable 1st team action. Naismith scored another wonder goal but if he is a Left Back I have yet to see it. Main, Davies and Buxton did ok, nothing more for me. Talbot came on for Buxton late on 2nd half but again I wasn't impressed. Back to Main I was hoping to see something which would give me hope that we had a striker to score plenty of goals if picked ahead of Smith for instance. I didn't see any hope of that last night but yes I know it is early days. Most amusing moment was when KB grabbed the ball for the Penalty but was out muscled by Main, he is a bit bigger after all. Good to see Geoff briefly and I caught a fleeting glimpse of Blue Chimes too. Westy eventually rolled in during the 2nd half. His arrival had the stewards jumping into action to redeploy from their slumbering to being nearer him, that thought made us laugh too. P.U.P.
