    The amazing talking wallet!

Each year we hear the same old story...million pound bids for 2 million pound players....record transfer fees to be smashed and smashed again...player coming in today!

But!...we actually get very little... A player supposedly for a few hundred thousand which is nothing in this division.

Yesterday showed a bit of reality..thrashed by a poor L2 side...well poor in L2 but looked like Real Madrid against us.

Several Of our Championship squad played and the defenders especially were hopeless.

I'm getting a bet on for Villa to get 10 or more.

I won't mention the poor schoolboy at left back out of respect to his mum who at least let him stay up so late.

When will TS learn that he needs to get investment in.

It's like Avanti shares...ramp ramp ramp to push up expectations then crash into reality.

That wallet certainly talks the part but can we get the thing open?

Careful, K. On Amanda's thread I made what I thought was an obvious joke about us going into non-league to get rid of plastic supporters and now have to have police protection. My views on Operation Shoestring aka RUFC are well known and I stand by them but am getting bored at being harangued by the Saint Tony mob on here.

Yesterday monty a L2 team scored 5 against us......now I would say that is a fact and evidence of the level we are at.

I didn't go,I admit but it was clear from the radio commentary that their attacks cut through our midfield and defence like a knife through butter.

Where is the apology to our fans who went to the game.

They paid good money which doesn't come easy unless they have been selling Avanti down.....The club should return their admission fee after that performance and that poor young boy at left back should not be kept up so late in future

I admit to being a bit confused as the result is being dismissed in some quarters as our "second string". Admittedly, perhaps 3 or 4 were left out but there were plenty of first choice players on show and surely Championship squad players anyway ought not to ship 5 at home to Morecambe. Not to mention that our GK was MOTM. I noticed that Micky Gray and the other pundit on Channel 5 had us as relegation certs after the Wolves game and the bookies have been so impressed with our signings that some have shortened our relegation odds. I pointed out on another thread that at 40% RUFC's wages bill was less than half the Championship average. We could have spent £3-4 million and increased wages by 50% and still be in the black and have lowest expenditure of all but 1 or 2 clubs. We're just throwing away all the hard work of the last 5 seasons.

Got the replies it deserved this thread Kempo.

At last people are wising up and recognising the difference between.

    1. Wind up merchants. Kempo/Monty
    2. Genuine run of the mill people who love this club. That's the majority on here thank goodness.

By the way Kemps mi owd pal. On Banter you claim Monty is a former poster on there who spends all his time abusing you on here, something doesn't add up Kempo and I'm calling bu11sh1t.

I've supported Rotherham for over 45 years Riley and have a season ticket again this year so I am unclear why you take the high ground re love of the club.

The problem with you and some others is that you don't tolerate questioning and criticism of the club.

You also describe alternative opinions as fishing and wind ups and prefer UTM..In Tony we trust...Long live King Tony and such eloquent and intellectual posting.

As for your last paragraph,I simply do not understand the point that you are making but suspect that it is a further derogatory comment.

Kempo their are a few things you need to understand

1 transfer window isn't shut yet so there's plenty of time for the wallet to come off the bench
    2. This is very true for 70% of fans... Most fans think Rotherham are broke which in fact we have the lowest wage bill and have spent next to nothing for last 2 seasons when in fact and you can look this up the club is making 3 million profit and that's after wages and everything I'd exspect an extra 1-2 milion from sky on top of it.. So the whole we don't have no money is a load of BS which even our Lord Tony says so.

We need to spend some of the money we have saved you are right Kempo but let's not get the pitch forks and torches until it's time

It would be nice to sign a striker that actually scores and a centre back whos quick...but they cost a lot of money..and wages...plus we could drop a gooly..remember matt tubbs? Didnt his club originally want 800k? and steve may?..im glad we didnt get suckered into buying him like that dreaming club not too far away..and think on, after all the bank breaking talk for a striker, just imagine if we got one and he doesnt score often enough..dear oh dear...

Kempo, I honestly think most supporters are happy with TS recruitment so far. Ideally we would have signed a striker and still might do.

Having said that we've scored 6 in 2 games so scoring hasn't been a problem.

Its been fairly positive on here over the last couple of weeks, no real criticism directed towards the club like there had been in the previous few weeks.

We lose a game to a lower league club and you pop straight up with this thread, its like you're sat waiting for the opportunity to have a pop. I haven't seen a single post from you on the threads praising the chairman on any of the new signings, I suppose none were good enough for you.

As the intelligent poster you are, you know full well Tuesdays game isn't a true reflection of how our season will go or does it reflect TS investment for this season. We lost to a L2 side, so did several other much bigger Championship clubs than us, it happens all the time.

My last paragraph is just mentioning how you describe Monty on Banter. You claim he is a poster called The Ridgeway Kid, whom I believe you claim was Wendun?? You say Monty constantly abuses you on here yet on this thread you're like a couple of old chums, plus I cant remember him ever abusing you on here, that's why I claimed you were talking bu11sh1t.

I don't doubt you're a Rotherham fan by the way, just that you're a Rotherham fan who posts to wind people up and get a reaction.

That's a better post Riley...It gives your opinions, although some different to mine, concisely and intelligently without being derogatory.

There is always an underlying opinion or point in my posts, well nearly always, but I try to present them in an interesting way to some at least.

To do this sometimes requires a touch of exaggeration and application of a touch of controversy but I'm not trying to wind people up...maybe occasionally if I was honest.

We need to get some quality in before we are playing catch up....that's my opinion.

I don't agree that getting thrashed by a L2 side doesn't show us anything...of course it does.
