    D-Day.....sink or swim?

Come on Stubbs deliver us that elusive centre forward we've so often been promised...

It has to be Gregory....no cash spent on Bradshaw so looks like Millwall will get close to what they wanted....or will they?

    Tic tioc as they say....

Apologies Brin: my normally rock solid intelligence network was wrong on the AA front. Not so much D-Day in my opinion but more the battle for Singapore, known in the trade as "Bloody Shambles."

One of the problems is Stubbs' insistence on playing 4-5-1.... unfortunately he may not think that a centre forward is a priority, as we've already got Ward and Yates. Easy to knock a big hole in that "logic", but AS may not see it that way.

For 4-5-1 to work, the "1" has got to be a top quality player, and there should be a least one good tackler, and a couple of regular goalscorersin the"5". Without Frecks, we've got none of that.

Good morning Monty... My feelings are that it isn't as though TS hasn't supplied the funds...he has! Both the Bradshaw and Gregory deals were of Stubbs' doing as HE informed TS he wasn't willing to get into a bidding war so we lost out on both..,. Things may have been oh so different if we had signed them both and simply got on with things....

My tip for today...... Drum roll please......

Alfie back if only to appease the natives.... if Stubbs can't see further than the end of his nose then he needs to pack it in hold his hands up and admit he's out of his depth....

Second division football coaching from Scotland simply does not work in a very high tempo demanding Championship league and I think he knows that now....

If he doesn't revert to a 4-4-2 formation we are well and truly shafted as ALL opposing managers know our set up before kick off....

    4-5-1 my a.rse!

Brin, you may be right. It doesn't seem very plausible to me as I've rarely heard of a manager telling a chairman NOT to buy players. Frankly, I'm fed up with the whole show. barnsley and Burton makes us look like a muppet club.

Typical reaction from you monty, why dont you wait and see, think most fans are frustrated but Stubbs has allways said he will only sign the right players, thats his policy and like it or hate it while he is the manager we have to live with it.I along with everyone hope we have reasons to be cheerful after todays business. Its even affecting Brin who normally is quite reasoned in his thinking.

All footballers are well over priced, is Pogba worth 90 million, a Bristol City Championship striker at 15 million!.
Stupid money, nowadays a decent lge 1 player can be around 1million.
We cannot compete with those prices, the more it goes on, the less we can compete financially.
Massive financial investment is what all clubs need to progress, where do we find a billionaire to invest in us?.
