On the eve of a transfer deadline that exceeded even my most pessimistic expectations for its pathetic incompetence what do we get?
We get a planted sob story about cyber trolls hounding poor Richard Stewart off the internet. Immediately, and without presenting any evidence of what was said and by whom, this story is repeated uncritically by various editors on Millers' forums.
Moreover, the said editors take it on themselves to remind fans of a £30m investment in the club by the Stewarts and finish with a clarion call : "Support the manager and get behind the directors"

Wow, wow, wow. Well, I don't have details of the £30m to hand but I believe that £20m of this figure is the cost of the stadium. I am sick of telling people this was not a gift from TS it is an INVESTMENT by his property company. It has a value, it can be sold, it can bring in an annual rental income.

So, if the net figure is around £10m this equates to about £1m per year of ownership, slightly more. This club has a turnover of £11m pa and all our rivals spend annually around 100% of their turnover on wages and transfers. I remain convinced that far from being generous the club is parsimonious and has no real plan for progressing RUFC or maintaining its Championship status.
