MillersMad Matchthread - Blackburn Rovers v The Millers

Well, another 2-2 home draw and somehow we're happier!

Is it because we are Millers that we feel better taking a draw from a losing position than a winning one? You'd think that would be an obvious thing to say but if we had drawn 1-1 after leading on Wednesday I think that we'd still be content with the result.

We played on Wednesday with the spirit deserving of the red and white shirt of our beloved club. We had fight in the middle of the park, strong defending, good organisation and attacking flare of players with a future in the game at this or a higher level.

It really was a massive difference from the team. Studds remarked that the players had listened to the fans but I reckon he hasn't taken the credit for doing just that himself.

We'd all love to see world beaters playing for us but are we ever going to it week in week out? No is the answer, all we want is a team of players trying and fighting to the best of their ability. We can tolerate players having an off day, they're human but we don't want to be fed bull shine! The next three weeks are *****! We have a what seems to be a full squad of fit players. The team seems to be settling into a system that they are used to and listening to what is requested of them by the management.

Pre-season is now over. We're in the mix so now we have to push on! Get the ball, keep it, pass it and score more goals!

We as fans don't like losing but we don't mind losing if we've given all!

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!

    Afternoon Froggy.

Does this afternoon count as a 6-pointer? Newell could be back, but Fisher will be a big miss.

Wednesday's result buys Stubbs a bit of time from the scalp hunters, but a loss today will see the knives being sharpened once again.

If we draw, or win narrowly, I reckon the pessimists will give voice to the "well, it's only Blackburn" mantra. Only a convincing win might help Stubbsy build on the fragile confidence of the supporters.

    Hey up Giddy,

Your last sentenc there, the supporters confidence is fragile but I have the feeling that Stubbs is full of confidence. I reckon he's in his heavens now that he has a near enough squad to choose from. Time will tell.

Let's hope that Adeyemi is fit enough to do the full 90 mins today, and Halford isn't unknowingly injured.... I'm guessing that Frecks and Newell are still not ready for a full match yet (a pity)

Stubbs sounds a lot more confident, I enjoyed listening to the post Forest dee dar interview it was as if a weights been lifted. So hopefully now... We always seem to kick start struggling teams seasons off so they'll be no knife sharpening from me regardless of what someone not mentioning any names believes I'll judge after today if the worst happens. Be nice if Stubbs can put that one to bed though.
