The old Barnet given a short back and sides......

Well impressed with the result and performance today.....we were 3 v 1 up when Barnet went down to ten men! Playing two up top makes so much difference at home and despite going in at the break at 1 v 1 I thought the game was there for Pompey to win.....Roberts goal was top draw........pity he missed the pen but his goal got the ground buzzing! Wasn't there for Conor,s goal the other week so would love to know how other posters rated Roberts goal against that one! 5 v 1 ....... At home a perfect response to the horror show at Stanley.....oh how I feel for LDB and those that made the trip......knowing how good we can be!!! Football a funny old game.....enjoy the weekend one and all!

The 2 changes (KB & Smith out. Naismith & CC in) made a massive difference for me. When Conor is on the pitch a goal always looks likely. I know he is young and cant do it every game but I just hope Cook gives him a run in the 1st team now. He shouldn't even be considered for the Mickey Mouse Cup in 10 days time. It is the league which matters. Just seen our goals on 5 Phil. A very very good goal but Conor's goal against Wycombe is the one for me. If I see a better one at the Park I will be amazed. Never been a fan of the MOTM award. I was gob smacked that Doyle got it but like our 5 scorers at least the sponsors spread the awards around. Never mind where is that Whisky and Ginger....Enjoy your weekend too

When we're on song we're going to be very difficult to beat and the team definitely has goals in it. Cook must take a lot of credit after being slated by so many. I find him a frustrating manager at times but he is young and learning, has assembled a good squad and gets the team playing the right way. I can see why he's still involving Bennet (he can be incisive or ineffective but is definitely a good footballer - how the hell people booed him on Saturday when he came on I'll never understand) and Smith as the season is very long and they will be needed along the way. Also, we have many players who can score (have the best goal difference) and are second in the fair play league too. Luton are top with 3 sending-offs and 22 yellows which they may well rue.Accrington second with 2 and 22. We have 0 and 11.PUP

Hugely enjoyable day. However the league is not going to be won burying poorish sides like Barnet at home. It'll be won on wet Tuesdays up North where we have come up short so far. If we can get something tomorrow I'll feel a lot more optimistic about our chances this season. But as I said fantastic day apart from the bloody hovercraft trip which I had forgotten how unpleasant it can be when it cuts up rough off Gilkicker.

Bennie - the kid needs support and a confidence boost not that ffs. He's a good footballer and a good lad by all accounts and, as dsmg says, could well have an important part to play in our season. Still, in a crowd that size I guess you will always find a small handful of morons ...

    Yep. I wasn't surprised.
