    Moyes calling for clarity.....

Excellent suggestion by David Moyes that all clubs should show all their transfer deals.... Agents fees.... Sell on fees....the job lot and why not what's to hide?

I hate it when a player goes for ' an undisclosed fee' why all the secrecy? Who's making what and where from a deal like that....

Transparency is the answer....well done for suggesting it Moyes....whether it becomes reality is another thing as there's possibly far too many 'closed shop ' deals going off....

I agree Brin, David Moyes' suggestion would force clubs to make full disclosures of their business dealings and hopefully reduce the scope for corruption. I doubt if the Premier League big boys will agree though and they'll come out with some claptrap about business confidentiality.
I also think a lot of problems would be solved if players were made exclusively responsible for paying agents' fees.
I've never understood why the clubs have to pick up these bills when it's the players who employ the agents.

Brin, Sheffield united sold Che Adams to Birmingham City in the summer. Sheffield United had bought him from Ilkeston.

I don't know whether transparency would have helped them.

The thing is though that making all of the deal transparent wont show any bungs managers get as a rake off from a bent agent for signing the agents players. Nor will it show bungs to agents to favour one club over another when they "advise" which club to sign for.

Remember the Lord Stevens report from 2006/7? very much the same topic (even Allardyce got a mention) but nothing happened and it wont as long as the decision makers financially benefit from the current set up.

Good point about agent being paid by player but clubs scared of loosing player so pay up......

Perhaps we should take up the USA DRAFT SYSTEM ?

But that's a bit like the 3 phase off-side rule to me ! Seems random - but designed to create a level playing field - I think....lol

Ibj, I think a rule change forbidding clubs to make any payments to agents would be an interesting innovation.
It won't happen though for the reason you've mentioned, ie the fear of them losing out on players.

Seeing sign on fees would be interesting, would give us all something extra to moan about.

There's no solution and to pretend there is gets us nowhere. Football is bent. End of. Whenever a sport or occupation attracts vast sums of money corruption inevitably follows. If you want to strike a blow don't subscribe to Sky and other similar outlets. It's the junkie needs of the fawning masses that fuels the merry-go-round.
