    Traveller Site - Old Deer

    Hi Guys,

Please could you take a minute to sign my petition below. Aberdeenshire Council are planning to put a travellers site up in Old Deer at Aikey Brae, very close to where I live. The site is a historical one, with one of the oldest stone circles in the Buchan area and the old abbey is nearby. The site is set to cost over £300K and the last time the travellers came here they trashed the area and left a right old mess. The locals love the area and it would be a shame and a real detriment to us if this went ahead. Cheers for reading !! I would really appreciate any support.

    Done.
I'm sure Aberdeen or was it the white council spent around £2 million on a purpose built site on the outskirts one in which I believe they don't use.

Its a complete waste of money. Its not even like the travellers can stay permanently, they have to leave after 2 weeks. So the place will just be a rid up. The one at St Cyrus works, but its permanent, this is not and the locals absolutely detest the idea.

I'm sure a few years ago the Stonehaven inhabitants went around their encampment one night revving their engines and tooting their horns into the early hours the gypsies complained to the police ..

But the next day a very tired group of gypsies left the camp.
Nothing worse than being kept up most of the night as you struggle to function the next day..

These folk do work to be fair .
