Without doubt Queens were the better team in what was a poor first half and should have gone in at half time at least one up. That we did not was down to poor finishing, mainly by Stephen Dobbie. Immediately after the interval Ayr United had a good spell and scored: thereafter we had the bulk of the possssion and made some half chances but still could not score, again down to poor finishing but also to lack of quality in and around Ayr United's goal. For example, late on in the game Jordan Marshall robbed the Ayr United defender who was trying to usher the ball out for a goal kick; he cut in then tamely passed the ball (or that is how it appeared) into the waiting arms of the Ayr United goalkeeper. Another reasonable chance squandered. Isn't it ironic that Lee Robinson came as close as anyone to scoring when he came up for a late corner. Once again Stephen Dobbie did not influence the game to the extent that he did earlier in the season and once again we failed to score. You will need no reminding that that is the fourth consecutive league game in which we have failed to score and the sixth consecutive game overall in which we have failed to score in the regulation ninety-minutes. I don't intend to subscribe to any conspiracy theories, but perhaps there will be those amongst you who are now prepared to accept that our extended run of poor form is more than a blip. I am just glad that I was not required the select the Man of the Match today. Not one of the twenty two players (plus substitutes) deserved that accolade.
Finally, when I attend games, both home and away, I wear insignia that clearly mark me out as a supporter of Queen of the South. I do not want my good name sullied by those idiots who stand on the terracing chanting in unison obscenities at the opposition and the opposition's manager. Oh, I know that some of you will argue that it is good-natured, football banter. Let me disabuse you of that notion. It is childish and offensive; and should not be tolerated by honest, decent fans. I certainly would not wish to take a young child anywhere near these morons.

I would say that Marshall was our best player today.

Once again Cresswell - very well said and I totally agree with your remarks on the completely unnecessary use of shouting obscenities which has no place in today's game.

There certainly should be no need for conspiracy theories after the Ayr match, because the team gave their all, - unlike in the Morton game just seven days earlier.

More worrying is the fact that Queens haven't scored in the regular 90 minutes for 6 matches, - and this is something that Gavin Skelton needs to address not anyone else.

We didn't deserve to lose on Saturday . Our luck will change again soon and Hamil was a big miss IMO

Hamill, Hilson and Lyle were all huge misses.

Still no podcasts on SoundCloud from Saturday's match on Queens Official....
