    November 1958- Motherwell v Djurgrdens

An interesting anniversary is upon us.*On 10 November 1958 Motherwell played the Swedish team Djurgardens at Fir Park in the first of an occasional series of floodlit friendlies.*Fans turned up in healthy numbers to see the Ancell Babes face foreign opposition.

I've still got the programme - unlike our usual programmes of the time, the friendlies progs were black and white, on glossy paper. I still fondly remember beating Leeds 7-0. They had somebody called Charlton at centre-half.
I wonder if he made a go of it?
