Fifa start proceedings against Wales and N Ireland

Can you believe that FIFA have started to investigate Wales and N Ireland for issues at recent matches including "Fans" wearing poppies at their matches.... What a bunch of arseholes for trying to dictate if we can or cannot honour our brave servicemen and women from years gone by.... and they do this by potentially deducting points! What a bunch of ****ers!

I know it's over the top but if the rule exists and it's been broken then I guess they are within their rights to investigate, the real point is whether the stupid rule should exist in the first place, if you follow F1 you'll know what mean

The point is not that the rule exists - and it's quite right that it should - who would want political slogans on shirts etc?

The point is that FIFA are interpreting the poppy as a political symbol - which it most certainly isn't. Anyone with common sense could understand the reasoning behind the wearing of poppies - unfortunately that rules out most at FIFA

I could see how FIFA could set a rule to prevent political slogans on shirts, and indeed poppies if they feel that they want to - and therefore they would investigate shirts bearing unacceptable slogans, but FANS? Did I read that right where it says FANS wearing poppies when attending a match could create a problem for the host country? Is the Welsh or N Irish FA to be held responsible for fans honouring their war dead at a match? Fans who walk around all day showing their solidarity to the poppy cause are to be expected to remove their poppy as they pass through the turnstile?

Now I am no great wearer of a poppy myself, but many do in a totally non confrontational and respectful way: so what the **** is wrong with them wearing one to a football match.

FIFA are tossers, always have been and always will be!! This sort of thing suits them as it takes attention away from what they should be investigating.........corruption corruption corruption!!
