And we have a number 2 now. His no.2 at East Fife , Dougie Anderson is coming too.

I would like to congratulate as well as wish both Gary and Dougie all the best on their appointment as the new managerial team at Palmerston. Let's hope that they can turn around the fortunes of the club that has been playing like headless chickens for the last few months and we can get our season back on track. Now we really need to get fully behind the new management as well as the team and although they will be not in the hot seat until next week we can do our bit this Saturday and roar on the lads against Dumbarton. Mon the South onwards and upwards.
well he is still playing i see player manager ,was a decent player in his day and a good servant to the national team ,if he can still play to 50% of his younger self he will be a good edition to the playing staff ,another young manager looking to make a name for himself ,lets just hope he can motivate this queens team he inherits ,and also if he turns things around and gets queens ticking i hope he wont be off at the first sniff of interest like johnstone and mcintyre ,we need a man thats wanting to stick around for success at queens .
It will always be difficult to keep young ambitious managers as we do not have the money to keep them here. We can only keep them when we start getting 3000 at our games and we all know that is not going to happen.
I think this is a great appointment, as I always thought he was very underrated as a player , mainly due to the fact he was not playing for the evil twins in Glasgow. I think if he brings his type of football to Dumfries, I for one will be delighted and maybe, just maybe, we will start getting at least 2000+ at our home matches.
Most of you will not be surprised to read that I am not inspired by this appointment. As far as I am concerned Mr Naismith is another off the manager conveyor belt to nowhere. I doubt very much that he meets the criteria eloquently set out by jardi in a recent post. Naismith took charge of East Fife first of all as caretaker manager and then as a permanent appointee in season 2013/14 - and East Fife were promptly relegated via the play-offs. The following season they finished fourth in SPFL2 then in season 2015/16 they were promoted back to SPFL1 with only 62 points, the lowest points total for a team promoted to SPFL1. East Fife currently sit in the relegation play-off place in SPFL1 with below them only Stenhousemuir who are having a disastrous season and already look doomed. That record in itself could not be described as inspiring much confidence in Mr Naismith. However, what really concerns me is that I took a phone call last night from a friend of very long standing whose judgement I have always found to be impeccable. That friend could be described as an East Fife insider. The gist of the conversation was, "Good riddance. Thank you Queen of the South. You have done East Fife an enormous favour". Read into that what you will but that conversation certainly leaves me full of foreboding.
As I have posted before and almost certainly will again, "Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose".
Well at least your O level French is passable, one day we may just get a post from you that is not negative about Queens but I doubt it. Must be the friends you keep in Fife, has anyone ever met a happy Fifer ?
At this time we should all get behind the team and give our new management pair a chance to prove that they can at least move us out of the depression everyone is in at the moment, anything is better than what we have at the moment.
Cresswell - AKA Victor Meldrew comes across as one bitter and twisted auld man with his negative postings - for a supporter who claims he has followed Queens for 70 years it is really a sad state of affairs that he seems to find some sort of pleasure in constanty putting the boot in to the Doonhamers and, indeed, Scottish football in general. We all know the game in this country is in a poor state but don't need reminding on here so please give it a rest.
