    Burton Albion Post Match Thoughts

I know Christmas time is upon us but I'm sorry to say I don't see a Messiah in our midst this time around. Points rate so far this season, 0.36 per game. Required rate over remaining 27 games for possible safety, 1.5 per game or to put that in perspective, the form of a top 10 team similar to what Fulham or Derby have done so far. At least we have the FA Cup to look forward to

Put your thoughts here if anyone can be bothered!

Smart move is to appoint a manager with an eye on coming back up from league one , keep your resources for the summer when players are more freely available and take the drop with a bit of nous

Anyone wants to take it I will offer £100 at evens that we don't get back in the Championship in the next three seasons.

We have had worse teams than the current shower in the past. In absolute terms at least. Some of our teams in the 3rd and 4th tiers were worse than our current lot (although any excuse for a football team, at any level, would give our sorry bunch a game.)
However, in relative terms, we must be at an all time low. In any division we have played we have surely never been so inept and so far behind our peers.
We know we have hardly any skill in the side but why, on a day like today, with a new bloke in charge and a good following, against mediocre opposition, couldn't we at least make a game of it?

Tend to agree with animal and monty. We need to use the January transfer window to plan for next season in Division 1. It would be suicide to spend a lot of money to try to stay up now. And yes it will take time before we can get back to the championship again, accept a mid table league 1 finish next season as a step in the right diretion.

Wrinkly: we did in the last 30 seconds!

Without radical change, it will be deja-vu in L1 next year

What can you do when we do bring in "experience and quality" - when they blatantly elbow someone in the head and get a ban.....

    Merry firkin Christmas.....

Sorry if I missed something but surely we've cancelled that fools contract - I mean instantly - and NOT paying him the big bucks he must surely be on....

    Who will come in January?

Is there any money any way - I don't see any will be forthcoming.

There is no tide turning, this is a full on Tsunami.

I have been today and once again it was so poor. So many under achievers.

Warney or is it Warnes never stood a chance and his after match interview on RS said it all. He was way out of his depth. Manager's role is not for Warney and thank goodness he has said he doesn't want it. Not that he could be judged with the squad he had to chose from. Nice to see our fans were kind to him. Bit like a Dad comforting his child for coming last in the egg and spoon race.

After this performance I don't know what we can do. I really don't. We have to get Ronnie back with Branno to put fire and fear in players' stomachs and if Brecks won't help then perhaps Watson can do Ronnie's leg work. Warney keeps his job. Root and branch clear out, start again. Years before we return to Championship and much closer to ending in L2 than chasing a Championship place again imo.

Ah well another 4 hour round trip to watch paint dry over and done with. Mark Robbins and Paddy Kenny were sat nearby. They left soon after the second half began. I mean, potential manager candidates who may think they want the job will probably do a Kenny Jacket before slipping their CV in to TS if they see us play first.

Paolo Di Canio's name was being banded about. Now that might bring some life and passion back to the old club. We do need the players in to work with though.

Paolo Di Canio, are you serious? He is a loose cannon. TS will have a cornary with him in charge.
