    Parking at Pride Park

My granddaughter has taken a liking to Derby County and wants me to take her to a game for her birthday in January. I have not been to Pride Park before and we live in Nottingham (I am NOT a Forest fan!), could someone please tell me where there is easy parking nearby. It doesn`t matter if it`s free or not.

    Thank you.

Congratulations on having such a discerning granddaughter. I believe the Cattle Market is good...others will know better. Beware of two things...there are lots of residential restrictions in place between the old Nottingham Road area and the ground and although parking actually on Pride Park near the ground is great before the match it can delay getting away by forty minutes or so.

You didn't point out to everyone that you are a supporter of Notts County . It must have been hard trying to persuade her to watch a club which is like going to a pub with no beer.

My sister lives near the Forest ground and got stuck in heavy traffic caused by those leaving the ground yesterday. Strange thing is, she had the commentary on and the match had twenty minutes to go.....

Not really, you're not even on the same wavelength as per usual. Who need's parking places when all the buses from South Nottingham have to cross Trent Bridge to get into the city. Even when the ground is full our public transport copes most adequately. It's a tribute that at a time when Derby was given over to the motor car our traffic planners went for a more integrated approach. We can be in the City Centre in five minutes and definitely don't have to add another forty five minutes to the game stuck in a car park.

'I'm not really on the same wavelength'...really? Talk about pot, kettle and black. A guy asks a question about parking for Pride Park. I try and answer helpfully...you try and 'point score' and continue with your tedious agenda. Q...which one of us is 'not on the right wavelength'? It's a guy looking for advice about parking in an unfamiliar location ffs...nothing more.

It was one of lot of your lot who linked my reply to a Notts County supporter with parking in Nottingham . The fact that my reply developed into tedious agenda for yourself means that my argument is unanswerable at least to someone who resides in Derby. One up to me and Nottingham.
