We are not the oldest football club in the world, that honour belongs to Sheffield FC but we are the oldest LEAGUE club in the world, one of the orginal twelve founder members of the football league, it could be a very sad season this season if we drop into the Conference and out of the league for the first time ever, im very worried as the football is dire down at Meadow Lane this year, ive been to see them 8/9 times this year and ive yet to see them win, our next three games against Doncaster, Carlisle and Cambridge could see us in the bottom two in the new year
Worrying and sad times indeed for us

I thought that i would have a look at that first season and cut the Preston lads bragging down a bit,Preston topped the league as champions having won all of their games home and away, the biggest home win that season was Aston Villa 9 Notts 1,the biggest away win was Notts 0 Preston 7....

I didnt bother delving any further
