I really think Warne will be given the job until the end of the season. To be honest, I don't think it is a bad idea. The players' confidence seems to be higher, and they respect him, which, based on Adeyemi's comments, didn't seem to be the case with previous managers.
I think the club have done well by appointing a head of recruitment, but I can't see the point in him looking for players that might not be the type of a player a new manager would want, meaning that Warne could be likely to stay. It is clear to see that our recruitment has been poor, with far too many misses instead of hits, so it is encouraging that we are taking steps forward. Although it may be 1 step forward and 2 steps back, it could serve us well in the future if we are laying the correct foundations. Theoretically, we could go down, tweak the squad with a few key signings instead of 10 crap ones and bounce back up. Not only would that be impressive based on how poor we have been this year, but it would also mean we have prevented wasting valuable resources.
After losing to Burton, I've pretty much resigned myself to the feeling that we are going down, but i think this appointment could be a silver lining from a poor season.
