Your Most Unenjoyable Time As A Miller!!

I've been thinking about this as I have to be honest.

Some of the views I read on here about our current plight, I find a bit over the top.

That said I do respect people opinions whether I agree or not.

For me the Kerr years were probably the worse. More because it followed such a golden period where we had been spoiled with the quality and excitement we witnessed.

I absolutely hated the Norman Hunter years too.

The previous 2 years or so before Ronnie came back for the first time and the DV years were also awful.

All the above were worse than the here and now in my opinion.

    What about you lot?

The Kerr years were horrendous and also I hated it when Mick Harrford was in charge.

Scott was a total disaster too.

Remember bout 72/73 being bad. Kerr years yes. Henson as manager we weren't going anywhere. Before Ronnie his 1st stint as manager weren't good times. Ronnie's last season in the Championship we were down early, his 2nd spell as manager ended badly. Scott at DV another bad appointment. Redfearn, Stubbs there spells as manager will go down as the worst in our history.

See how it goes from now when we get a Manager whoever it may be.

On the lighter side I allways enjoyed one of them hot pork pies at Millmoor, but seriously probably everytime we play in a massive stadium and there has been plenty of them, some great performances against mush higher opposition.

I agree with all of that Riley and the George Kerr era always brings back horrendous memories.
The DVS years were pretty grim but I wonder if things would have been different if Mark Robins hadn't jumped ship. After all he worked a minor miracle to overcome the 17 point deduction.
I won't go over the reasons why I'm so disappointed with this season again as I think we've debated them pretty fully.
However I stand by my views that we have lost a golden opportunity for the club to progress and have given up our Championship status without a fight.
So, for me, this season also ranks as one of the most unenjoyable times of being a Miller.

    The DVS era was shocking.

George Kerr obviously Andy Scott I didn't like Gemill either.

    Obviously Stubbs has been shocking.

Mellow I agree with you about Robins.

This season is character building that's all 😂.

All HAIL OUR LEADER TS 😜😜

Stubbs tried to "educate" all things Rotherham United into this century !

From first till last he was his own man despite disgraceful abuse from idiots who think we should play "The Rotherham Way"......Stubbs was our best chance than his season no matter what the MM "experts" say.

But you didn't get it then - you won't get it now !

As for "Most Unenjoyable Time As A Miller!!"

I think it must be looking at the incomplete monstrosity of a concrete stand at Millmoor. Half seated with Porta-cabin changing rooms.

That construction was an all time low in Rotherham Uniteds history for me - and when you drive down from Kimberworth - and see both grounds I rejoice in all things TS.

I know this season is not what we all wanted but we hardly grew "organically" did we - we gate crashed the championship didn't we and we were not ready.

Three years and the championship has grown faster than we have !

We have only one deep pocket to thank for all we've got - look at that concrete monolith at Millmoor and count your blessings !

Don't know about worst era or season but definately the lowest ive felt after a game was the 3-2 loss at home to wednesday when Evans basically janded the game to them ... usually i move on after about 2hrs after a bad game but i was still gitted about that game WEEKS after...Maguires actions afterwards made it worse aswell..then we go and buy him ffs.

I know what you mean Bri, that was awful to witness.

That said once I'd heard fans had died the result did pale into insignificance for me to be honest.

Hate losing to them though pal
