    So much for feeling positive...

When Cook got Eoin Doyle in I thought we'd click and his tactics would start to work. Wrong I guess. 5 points dropped at home against teams that promotion contenders should be beating.

Clearly the squad is capable, but something messes up the motivation. I'd like the owners/Board to intervene and sort out what is going wrong once and for all. Something has to give if we're to get promoted this season. Otherwise I think season tickets won't be renewed.

We weren't very good 1st half while 2nd half we were a disgrace. Words fail me as to the difference after what was a very good 2nd half performance at Carlisle only a week ago. Against a team who had shipped 4 at both Exeter and Hartlepool recently we started with just Doyle up front as is the norm for Cook. Neither Smith nor Doyle are goal scorers in the true sense and if we don't go up this season that will be the main reason for me, coupled with the 1 up front at home system which I hate. It took Cook 49 minutes to bring on CC but in all honesty by then the damage was done. We got worse, Crewe got better. I had a bit of a drive to do tonight so I left with a minute to go, heard the Boos and 1 chorus of "What the chuffing hell was that" as I trudged away. Cook doesn't fit the club I love, as I've said before I want them to win at home but I want to be entertained. He doesn't manage either sadly. The only good thing today was that they had the sense to not announce a man of the match (there wasn't one trust me) and I hear he pulled the players off the pitch at the final whistle. They were kept in the dressing room after the game for a long while I read and it will be interesting to see the reaction Tuesday for a start. One of the worst and saddest Saturday afternoons I've had at FP and there have been a few.

I've borrowed this from elsewhere....Posted by a seasoned fan, he put it very well I feel........It seems to me the fans who claim that those who booed should be ashamed, have rather got things back to front........the players should be ashamed for that spineless, gutless hopeless performance they served up this afternoon. Almost 17000 fans paid good money to see the match and were slapped in the face by a bunch of uncaring overpaid "professional footballers" who couldn't even manage one shot on target between the lot of them over the 90 minutes. I booed, and I will boo and show my disgust when i get subjected to that garbage. The players would be happy to soak up all the applause and cheers when they perform well or win a trophy, so they can man up and accept the criticism and the flak when they are rubbish...I refuse to applaud the dross I witnessed this afternoon, and over the 58 years I've been following Pompey, I've seen some garbage in my time.........and every time the players underperformed to the new low level they managed today, they were told in no uncertain terms by the fans that this was not acceptable and would not be exempt from criticism....I can handle us being beaten by a better team, if we've at least tried and done our best, today, no effort, no one tried at all and the fact that the club didn't even nominate a man of the match tells you all you need to know, today was utter crap, Pompey, and it is not good enough.........

Seems to me that you need to be one of the travelling army to see a good game.
How disrespectful to the Loyal home only supporters.

Totally agree and with LDB. I doubt we'll win on Tuesday as that'll put us 3rd and I don't believe the players can handle the pressure of keeping us there. Having said that Luton can catch us, so it's out of our hands once again thanks to yesterday.

And not announcing a motm says it all - disgraceful. But we've been here before this season and last, over and over. Starting to sound like Arsenal fans now.

Another shocking home performance from Pompey.......like the majority of Pompey fans I can take a defeat if at the very least the players have had a right go but come up short against a better side but yesterday's showing was shocking. Going to Fratton Park has become a challenge...... it's uninspiring and predictable football and it's bloody boring! Teams have Sussed us out and it's getting embarrassing! True we have no divine right to walk this league but when a team shows up having lost their last four games, shipped twenty plus goals and makes us look like a relegation threatened team not one pushing for promotion you have to wonder what the hell is wrong. I left the ground before the final whistle and heard the crowds reaction when it finally came down by specks lane........it was justified and I only hope that it's the wake up call Cook and this team need as we go into the business end of the season. Here's hoping.......

Are the team not playing for Cook? Or is the team arrogant and think they only have to turn up to win every so often to placate the masses?

Well said both of you. Cook is the problem for me and from comments I have read he is prepared for the day when the axe comes as it will. However with his lucrative contract till the summer of 2018 I cant see the club sacking him....yet. I have never known the home fans so split in their support. Very sad but it is what it is. Crawley and Colchester next.
