    I feel for Paul Warne

    He's in an impossible situation.

He's getting stick for an impossible job.
I bet he would love to come out and slate the players publicly but whilst that would endear him to some supporters it would put him in a position where he will have to work with some of the players next year in whatever capacity that is and that's not going to help him.

Then there is the Managers job he may want it and again if he absolutely rips the players to pieces publicly it's not just the players he may have to work with how is that going to look to the board him doing that??
The board may well look at at and judge him for it.

I don't think he's the right man for the managers job e.g. Bringing Smallwood on yesterday was an example of this.

I have met him on several occasions and he loves the club through and through and that's why he is doing this. He is a people pleaser and wants to try and do right for the club which is another reason why he's probably not management material.

I think the joking and stuff in the interviews is his way of trying to deal with the situation he is in which doesn't always come across that well.

Ask yourself this though if you had to pick one person working at RUFC at the moment who is acting with integrity and earning his wage who would it be?

YEP Paul Warne would fit into that category for me.

Some of the stick he is getting is ridiculous at the moment from some.

He's a club legend and deserves more respect.

I don't think a single supporter is blaming Warne.

The majority of us don't think he has shown anything for him to be considered for the manager's job.

He is a fitness coach...he does not have coaching qualifications and he has failed to get our inadequate players to show any sort of fight.

    His results record is terrible.

    So let's make him manager.

It would be laughable if it wasn't such a serious matter.

Nobody is blaming Warne and if he is made manager then the fault is with the Chairman and it will be a disaster.

It's only our lack of confidence in the Chairman that would make us think for one second that he would make Warne manager...It's ridiculous but we do think he might!

I agree he's not management material.

He is getting stick though no he's not getting the blame for the mess we're in but he gets stick.
Some will say he shouldn't have taken the job on so he deserves it.

For me it's an impossible situation.

What PW needs to do is to make a statement that he is fulfilling his remit to manage the club to the end of the season and then he has no interest is taking the job after that.

We cannot go forward next season with him as manager because it will end badly for him and us if he gets the job.

He's in charge of who he puts on the pitch, he's in charge of tactics, he's going to get stick ,why wouldn't he?

I agree to some of your points, but he did say yesterday that he told some players what he wanted them to do & they didn't.Now his he not strong enough or are the players not playing for him if this is the case then tell them & us who they are & get rid.

Paul Warne is not a manager.

However I agree with pocket in that he's giving it his best shot is it good enough well no it isn't but he's been put in this position so just to say he should get stick is laughable.

The players attitude is shocking but if he drops them all we don't have enough cover.

How many players are giving it there all??

My sentiments exactly, Pocket. It's regrettable that a man with so much integrity and love for the club finds himself in such an impossible situation. Fortunately, the vast majority of Millers supporters recognise his plight and appreciate his predicament or he would be suffering immeasurable abuse right now. The truth is he should never have been put in charge beyond two months maximum. He's not a manager and TS should have been openly defending him during this appalling run rather than hiding behind him.

We should now be hearing from the Chairman that we are actively searching for a new manager and expect an appointment by early-mid May at the latest to allow for contract talks and recruitment. The longer this dreadful saga is allowed to continue the worse it gets for everybody concerned and the prospects for next season grow ever dimmer.

Tony Stewart reminds me of a First World War general.
He has sent his hastily promoted sergeant and inadequate troops into the heat of battle and is simply standing by watching them get shot to pieces while he stays safely in the shelter of his home base.
Shameful behaviour and Paul Warne deserves so much better.

why doesn't Paul Warne stand down?

why Is Paul Warne saying he would be the manager next season.

he was a journeyman footballer with a bit of talent but made a living from it.

I can't imagine he would be in demand as a fitness coach
