    Speaking of doctors...

Does the club actually have one?

I say this because ever since we moved to the NYS our players seem to be dropping like flies, often without ever playing their first game for us.

Steve Evans was bombasric in his claim that every single player he brought to the club would've been personally vetted by him and they would improve the side considerably. This was clearly one of many porkies told by SE to get our juices flowing as mere supporters of the club and therefore of no particular interest, since he was clever and supporters are notoriously stupid.

I've lost count of the number of players who arrived unfit and clearly carrying long term injuries. If this was the case, why did our club doctor pass them as fit and presumably ready to go straight into the team? I have a blind spot when it comes to the fat and nowhere near fit Argentine formerly of Leeds. We paid this man a lot of money in wages and got nothing in return and the same applies to Blackstock

Later we went back a second time for the Argentine and the same thing happened. Also when players are injured (which they often are) they seem to be an awfully long time being rehabilitated.

And so again I ask, do we have a club doctor and is he at all competent?

TS in his Confessions of an inept chairman (he must have laid out a fortune of our gate money paying off all these dud and lame players.
Neil Warnock is the only one excused from this condmnation because he truly is a competent pro unlike all the others.

We do and I have wondered about the points you make.

In deference to professional colleagues I have not brought it up on here as I don't know their job description.

I do not know if it's the GPs or the orthopaedic surgeon who does the medicals and neither do I know their remit.

The points you make about signings and also the ongoing fitness problems is the reason I keep advising upgrades of gym, fitness coaching, physio department and medical side.

Nobody seems to be listening and fail to understand that we should build up from a modern and professional infrastructure.

All we get is that it costs money

Neil Warnock blasted the facilities as did Revell but we prefer to be a club in the sixties.

This is part of my theory as to why it came about that Kenny slipped out of his Jackett after only 5 games. TS clearly showed him only the things he wanted him to see and then when suitably signed in' KJ got to see exactly what went on behind the scenes. It's a classic case of a homeowner duping a prospective buyer by papering over the cracks and glossing over the dry rot.

That said, I'm not too bothered that he got away because at Wolves he had an awesome looking squad but failed to achieve anything with them (in fact just the opposite). This however, is me trying to fool myself because we're still left with all the fixtures and fittings circa 1956.

Best of luck with the big bet this afternoon. One of the plus points of betting all year round is that you don't get too wound up about the start of the turf season. The Lincoln is only a very tight handicap anyway with lots of long term plots being hatched. I've won a 4 figure sum since Wenesday already and don't want to go chasing losses down at Kempton. Chelmsford this evening may be a different matter.
