What have Brentford got that we haven't?

...and the answer isn't yesterday's four goals! But what is it about their scouting system that allows them to consistently unearth gems like Alan Judge, Scott Hogan and yesterday's scorers, Jota and Vibe? That's quality UK and Europe wide scouting from a side whose natural home is, with respect, probably in League One. We've got the relative wealth and the prestige of being a potential Premiership side and yet I can't remember the last time we found someone decent from Europe or even a previously unheralded success from our own country.

Maybe, but they're still below us in the table. Would those players look so good in a top of the table side, or premier league side? I'm not sure.

We haven't unearthed talent since Jim Smith was here!

Surely they should look even better in a good side Adi. I know Brentford are below us but they continue to punch above their weight and took 4 points off us.
Tbf, Nigel Clough - or his brother - did find some UK talent but I agree, nothing from Europe or elsewhere in the world since the Bald Eagle...wonder who his scouts were?

Ha bloody ha Rob and Rog...perhaps the question should be 'who' not 'what', because whoever their scouts are, they can certainly teach ours a thing or two.
Do Brentford Nylons still exist Rog?

They do have a wealthy owner, similar to us, They have a 'Brentford Way' based on a stats based approach and recruiting is based on this. I hate it personally but it seems to work for them.
Benham has invested in the academy but similar to us that won't work. They do punch above their weight but expectations are less. Benham stated he wanted them to be a stable Championship team and they are.
I know their structure pretty well and now expectations will increase so will they make good decisions going forward. Morris goofed it, will Benham!

" What have Brentford got that we haven't ? "

Anag, this question remdins me of the one on Monty Pythons Life of Brian, " Ok apart from all that... what have the Romans ever done for us ? "
