Not fussed at all . Probably wanted more money . Same player said i want to stay 8 weeks ago (seems only wants to stay if we line his pockets)

What a pathetic, narrow-minded, clueless, penny-pinching, ambitionless, bullsh*t-generating club we are...
All of a sudden he's turned into Ronaldo he was never really that good was he ?
What's all the fuss about ?

So you would have given him a pay rise or same T&Cs for playing in a lower league - good job you don't run a business you'd be bust -get real.
There will be plenty of younger players out there waiting for a chance to play for us in Lge1 - probably have more pace & passing ability as well.
guess according to warne thats 7 more players needed
Disappointing. He would have done well again in League One. Where are we going to get a comparable replacement for less money?
Starting to worry a bit for next season. Quite clearly cost-cutting and nothing exciting coming in. Management team of a fitness coach who by his own admission isn't even very good at that (bceause according to him the team weren't fit enough) and a bloke with what seems to be an unblemished record of underachievement.
Hope I'm wrong, but none of this looks promising.
Does anyone know how much we offered him?
Does anyone know how much league 1 players are on?
Does anyone know why we aren't paying the same as other teams in league 1 ?
That would a be a no then.
^^^ We don't really need to know any of these things. We know we wanted him, we know he wanted to stay, and we know he now feels he can get a better deal at another club at League one level or lower. It's safe to assume that Smallwood knows the answers.
We all know full well that a pay rise wasn't on the agenda, what will have been discussed is a pay cut which Smallwood would no doubt have been willing to accept - within reason. What we'll now get is a less able, less experienced, cheaper alternative - in keeping with a developing club policy that is all too apparent, despite assertions to the contrary.
