    Knew it!

I guess we all saw that equaliser coming :-(

Still, two cracking strikes from Griffiths.

That is Scotland in a nutshell, hearts of mice.

They actually got a point more than they deserved from that game but they somehow get themselves into a winning position in the last minute of the game only to **** it up straight away.

The headlines tomorrow will all now be the usual pitiful "brave Scotland, unlucky Scotland, robbed of a famous victory Scotland, lots of positives to take" but in reality nothing has changed. It's just the same old sh!tebag Scotland that they've always been.

The Motherwell FC of international football.

Spot on Scotland are a feckin disaster.... unable to pass a ball 10 feet to play time out.. utterly utterly useless and just puts our ultimate exit back a couple of months. They weren't unlucky they didnt win cos they are sh1te.

They couldn't pass the ball 10 yards all day, rather they lumped long balls up to Griffiths who was trying to win them against two 6ft+ defenders who easily mopped them up. The Scots performance was gutless and no attempt was made to try and win that game and it was petering out into a routine 1-0 England win until the two late free kicks. To then fail to win the game after getting such a slice of great fortune like they did is Scotland in a nutshell, incompetent and and gormless and they don't deserve to qualify for anything. They weren't unlucky they were anything but, they managed to get in front in the dying minutes from 1-0 down and had they win it would have been daylight robbery, yet they still couldn't hold out.

They are nothing but an embarrassment to themselves and with the exception of Andy Murray in tennis, it's the same at all levels of sport.

Context is everything in draws...if it ended 1-1, we could have played platitude bingo about plugging away, staying in the contest etc, fighting back to the take the point everyone would have taken at kick-off. Instead it was a glorious win thrown away.

Not that matters either way in the grand scheme of things - we weren't going to Russia anyway, a win would have been a major happy footnote in a failed campaign, the draw (or rather the nature of it) is instead a minor footnote in a failed campaign.

The fact remains that we can debate who should be coach, who should play up front, in midfield, in goals etc till the cows come home - we have much of a muchness there so it's entertainment for the pub, nothing else. Until we develop at least two (and with suspensions, injuries etc, realistically three) centre-backs from completely outside the current crop, we are going absolutely nowhere.

As said before, typical Scotland. We aren't good enough, it's as simple as that. If we had won that game it would be papering over huge cracks.

I'll shove my cards on the table - might not be the biggest supporter of our national team, but I disagree with going down the line of referring to Scotland as 'they or them'. I've seen the glorious failures these past 4 decades (even been at a fair few). But FFS, some folk on here are delusional about what a team of 'really average' players should be able to achieve.
Saturday should've been 3 points granted ... and, no thanks to Craig Gordon for 5hittin the nest big time!!

It is not delusional to ask ANY player to be able to pass a ball , they are professional footballers they use the ball every day. Id agree its unreasonable to expect something other than very ordinary and average. We show time and again that we are even incapable of that with a frequency that tells us that standard is to be expected. Yes even the best players can make a bad pass but when its habitual within your ranks you really have to ask why.
