    Georgi Kinkladze

I remember him as a flair player and I do recall some outrageously outstanding displays for you. But I recall too there was some dispute over contract. How's he regarded? Legend, club player or wasted opportunity?

Manchester City legend...at Derby...sometimes a genius, at others a luxury imo.

Pretty spot on assessment that. There were times it looked like the ball was tied to his foot but like so many other mercurial talents he was a one in three in terms of performances.

Ah yes, that strikes me as about right. Classy player on his day though, kinda "Maradonaesque.'

Best. Robertson. Kinkladze. Three best dribblers I ever saw in the flesh. I've said before I saw him in a game against Coventry and he made everyone else look like they had hobnail boots on. BUT somehow we didn't score, and that summed up how frustrating his genius was

He barely played for us so not a legend lol

He was mostly used as a sub tbh, i remember colin todd wasnt much of a fan eithrr, jim smith knew he was decent though but injurys kept getting in the way of his progress.

Colin todd was a waste of space as manager though, if it was up to him wed have had 11 defenders on the pitch.

It just shows how people can have widely varying views on players.
I would say that Leon was an average dribbler at best!!

He actually made 93 appearances for us DCFC Army...yep I was surprised too. Only made a handful more for City, although he had a much bigger impact there. Brilliant on his day but wouldn't get close to my own all time favourite Derby County XI.

Like a lot of gifted players an enigma!! Should (could) have been an all time great but just fell short, missing that extra something that makes Messi etc players who will live long in the history of the game but one who I enjoyed watching.
At the moment we are totally bereft of anything 'different' and so watching the likes of a Kinkladze, Eranio, Baiano et al is, unfortunately, a long forgotten memory!!
