Bowman and Moult score to beat Hearts

The Moult-Bowman partnership combined to deliver a fine 2-1 win for Motherwell over Hearts on Fir Park's immaculate surface. It was a great team effort that will see us through the international break with some cheer. - External Link

Did we see farewell waves from Moult and Cadden at the end? Hope not.

could manage without Moult reluctantly, I think, but Cadden as well would be a devastating loss. Great team effort today, great work ethic and some lovely football. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire game.

A hard fought 2 points but we deserved to win. Hearts played, I think, much how we have come to expect over the years. Good to see our strikers contribute with goals and hopefully they can kick on now. An important win but we could do without the international break.

A very enjoyable match and I cannot remember the last time so many fans stayed at the end to give the team prolonged applause as they left the pitch. Good performances from every player and all worked very hard. I think Heneghan has blossomed in the back three, won every ball in the air and his distribution was good. For the first time (that I could see) I think Rose made a positive contribution throughout the game and he may be one of these guys who does more than fans tend to notice - a bit like Ian Angus, in my view. All the others were very good but as a couple of players who get a bit of stick I think those two deserve recognition.

Bowman had his best game in for us since he joined the club. Put himself about a bit and got the goal his display deserved. Hopefully he can keep it going.

Agreed - Bowman was excellent. He's really taking on the responsibility of a committed and confident striker now. Can see him being top scorer this season.

Fair play to Bowman...I've been far from convinced but that was a good effort with some ability thrown in.

And fingers crossed a home goal gives him a boost too.
