The smell of pipe tobacco and stale piss is indeed a big miss Minn.
The toilets in the old Brummie Rd were stained a dark tar colour half an inch thick with the residue of 70 year old urine.
Oh how I hanker for the 70's.
I hardly get to travel nowadays, do any other grounds have these big curved screens? They were up and running today, very impressive. The pre match tribute to Les James was fantastic showing footage of all the Albion events that Les would have witnessed throughout his life, all alongside an image of him holding his Albion scarf outstretched on a match day.
I have to say the ground is looking so smart, almost too smart, I almost don't recognise it at times, at the risk of opening a can of worms, as much as I admire the modern Hawthorns I don't half miss the old ground at times.

😄Fair comment Mick, but you know what I mean, yes, it's dead impressive but sometimes don't you feel like you belong in a different era?
Those corners are crying out for seats, not curved screens to show dumb tweets.
Too right BB.
I also hate the pre match "predictions" from 12 year old Chelsea and 9 year old Tyson who always think we're going to beat anybody 5-0 and that Rondon is going to score a hat trick.
Toe curling interviews and an announcer who has to f kin screech every announcement at the top of his voice.
I go to matches for the social side, chatting to mates etc....I'm not interested in all this modern entertainment bolloxx.
Yes, the Hawthorns is looking very smart but we do now need to rebuild the Halfod stand to match the rest of the ground. I don't buy into the ' we can't fill the present capacity' brigade. We need to show ambition, both on and off the field, and that means upgrading the Halford.
P.A isn't very good just white noise in the Smethwick. Couldn't understand a word other than the team announcements.
How many were on the bus/tram to shout the lads over the line when Stoke equalised and were looking dangerous?
You don't see many feckin off at other grounds with the game on a knife edge.
No appeal to me these days, a ground full of moaners and travel enthusiasts.
