And to think we were going to cash in with Burnley for him 3 years ago, but instead stuck him on a stupidly long expensive contract. Get him off the books, time's ticking for some signings.
Burton Albion look set to replace Jackson Irvine who is off to Hull City with Craig Bryson, who will link up with his former boss Clough at the Pirelli Stadium.

I think one midfielder from butterfield or Bryson will go. I'd keep Bryson over butterfield. He gives us goals from midfield which butterfield lacks
Bryson scored against Sheff Utd on Saturday but has recently fallen down the pecking line far too often he is a reliable veteran in the team when he get's called up but unfortunately our midfield has been stale for quite some time and needs a rebuild and Bryson has been at the club for far too long and it's time for him to seek pastures new so that Derby can rebuild and prepare for the future.
As for Butterfield it will be a tricky one because Rowett won't sell him unless he can recoup close to the value price we bought him for otherwise if we don't we lose a lot of value for money on player's which have been average at best. If someone comes in for him with an offer close to our value for him brilliant, or if we even send him out on loan for the season to free up space to someone to come in even better.
Would not give a flying f*** if we sold all our midfielders, what use they are we might aswell go in with a 413 anyway.
Bryson like martin needs everything set up to accommodate him,, butterfield we might aswell stick a french soldier from ww2 in there,, johnson doesnt wanna be here imo, feel sorry for him in a little, hed be better off back at norwich.
Rowett does need the time to sort that midfield out, could take 3 more windows.
Its a shame as hes probably the best 'team' player we have had in the last 15 to 20 years. When hes on song the team is on fire.
Unfortunately managers have tried to fit other players in and around other players and lost that. I think he'll be a revelation at Burton and very sad to see if he goes....
On his day Bryson can score bags of goals when he wants too but has been in out out of the starting 11 due to inconsistency in his performances as of late. He's a valuable asset for any team but given current times he's been at the club for too long and when a player has been at the club for too long, they become stale and need a fresh start to get their performances up and running again and Burton will be the perfect opportunity for Bryson given the face that he knows Nigel really well and he will fit into the current system Burton play beautifully.
