Barnes going out the door for £10 million, Wells coming in the door at £5 million. We simply can't refuse a profit, can we?

Do we really need the money BT? In the big scheme of things is not keeping Barnes more pragmatic than buying some guy that's not playing for Huddersfield and has no Premier League experience? If he a flop, how much of the 5 million we paid for do we get back if we have to sell him would be my concern.

We don't need the money Deadly but old habits die hard I'm afraid!

Worryingly, he is out of action for a couple of months with ankle knack. How can he possibly pass a medical?

I know nothing about this Wells guy, but it seems to me getting rid of Barnes to accommodate Wells would be a mistake. Admittedly Barnes has slipped down the pecking order but he has experience at the PL level, not the most skilled player but he usually shows up for work and is a nasty player to play against. Opposing defenders know he’s around, not unlike Andy Lochead in that respect.

    Just my humble opinion.
