Cliff Jones- Its a Wonderful Life .(The book)

Just finished reading this easy to read , very interesting autobiography , by the former Spurs and Wales winger. It tells of his early days at Swansea. Town, representing Wales in the World Cup when Pele was still to hit the big time, through to the glory days of Spurs successful team and beyond . This also includes the battle he had with being an alcoholic and how he succeeded and got his life back on track.
Any of you older Clarets remember seeing him play ? I'd be interested to know.

I saw him and the famous Spurs side in my youth.. Them and Burnley were the best two sides by miles around the time.. Not much in both teams but Spurs just had that bit more luck in the big games..

John Angus and Cliff Jones had titanic battles but what a player Jones was!

Absolutely the best games I have ever seen were between Spurs and Burnley in the early sixties.

The likes of Brown, Mackay, Smith, White, Henry, Jones, Blanchflower, Jones, Greaves, Adamson, Pointer, Mcilroy, Connelly, Elder, Angus, Miller, Blacklaw, Harris and Robson were the stuff of dreams.

    They make the current EPL lot look positively s h i t e !
