    What next?

I'm not the sort of person who starts calling for the manager to be sacked, but i have to say i'm in that place now.

We are now looking down instead of up in my opinion - we have to. 19th placed Millwall are now within two wins/two defeats for us. We have Boro, Villa and Wolves in the next 4 games - given the way we have played for nearly 2 months now, what likelihood is there that we get any points from those games. By early/middle of December we could well be just a few points above the drop zone. I haven't seen a form table for the championship, but i'm betting we'd be in the bottom 3 at best.

I remember the first few games when we were not only great to watch, but we were winning 90% of the 50/50 balls. Today and for the last few weeks, only Saiz and Viera have even looked like doing that, and then usually haven't anyway.

We don't have a goalkeeper fit to play at this level. Whilst Lonergan is better than Weidwald, he's still nothing more than a back-up and we need to remedy that. Does anyone know if/when there is the option of loan signings?

I noticed in the paper that Jack Colback is out of favour at Newcastle. He's out of our financial league, but we need a defensive/distributive midfield player like him (like Brentford's Woods today and the Sheffield United pair who took us to the cleaners) who can sit in front of the back four and distribute the ball, control possession, calm things down, and get stuck into 50/50s without getting booked or giving away penalties. Viera is too young to rely on at this level - he's one of our best players, but isn't that saying something after a summer of recruiting 16 players?

Basically, when we lose the ball we look like we're going to concede every time the other team attacks. Let's be honest, Brentford today hit the post twice, missed a pen, scored three but could've had 7 or 8. And that's been true at least 3 times during this run of defeats. In the last 7 games we've averaged 2 goals against in every one. That's appalling.

Thomas Christiansen might know how to coach in an attacking way (perhaps what he told Radrizzani at the famous presentation because Monk spent the season setting up to avoid defeat), but he clearly has no idea whatsoever how to set a team up to defend properly. His goalkeeping decisions are just the tip of the iceberg if you look at the defensive disasters of this season - last season's best players (Ayling/Janson) totally out of form, Cooper captain, two average to worse keepers replacing one former England keeper who did a decent job all season for us last year, we don't replace our left back. Basically we've lost the defence we had last season, which was the foundation of where we managed to get to, despite all of our disappointment.

Sorry for the long email - i'm using this as therapy. I'm no longer disappointed because of the start of the season and all it promised. I'm now gutted because I genuinely think we're back to where we were before last season - another season of scrabbling around trying to avoid being sucked further down towards the bottom.

Just seen the form table - over the last 6 matches, we're 23rd. Only Preston are worse.

I'm hoping for an announcement Rev. Has Christiansen given an interview yet? If not, it could suggest he's gone.

Hate to say it but that was surely his last game, I genuinely thought he could turn it around, just don't know who would replace him, nobody can survive this awful run of form.
