Is it really 6 years? One of the reasons I eventually joined this forum was reading the tributes on here to GS. The GS thread was probably one of the best ever with a lot of Blades sharing their own personal losses. RIP Gary you were a part of our history.

Me and the kids happened to be at BDTBL at the Superstore the day he was announced as manager (I think it was the day or the one after...). and we bumped into Speedo in the car park, wished him good luck and thought nowt more about it. Terrible loss. What a shame. RIP

New there was something about this time of year what makes me sad

Died same day as my Grandad
But at least my Grandad had a good innings
He was 90 when he died having smoked about 40 fags a day since he started at age 11
79 years of smoking !!!!
Makes you wonder how old he could have got to if he'd never smoked

To sum Gary up , he`s the only player that could step in for Coutts , a player that we desperately need now , hey what a midfield that would be Speedo , Fleck , Coutts and Duff !!! Promotion guaranteed RIP Gary .
