Group A: Uruguay, Egypt - though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Russia get a few favorable calls to push them along
Group B: Spain, Portugal - easiest group to pick IMO. Iran are usually very organized and tough to break down, but they won’t be able to beat the Iberian nations
Group C: France, Peru - Have seen Peru play more than Denmark, so I know a bit more about them. Impressive CONMEBOL qualifying campaign for them.
Group D: Argentina, Croatia - I had the most trouble picking the second team from this group. Croatia are easily the most talented of the teams outside Argentina, but their coaching situation was a bit of a mess. Iceland did well at the Euros. Nigeria is very talented as welll.
Group E: Brazil, Switzerland - Costa Rica had a great 2014 World Cup. A lot of the same players are back .But they’re a bit longer in the tooth so I can’t see them sneaking out. Serbia won their group, but it was the easiest group in UEFA qualifying IMO. dont’ know a lot about them.
Group F: Germany, Mexico - Germany the obvious favorites. Mexico are a talented team and I would be surprised if they didn’t get to the knockout stage.
Group G: England, Belgium - Belgium have lots of talent, but I think they’re overrated a bit and Martinez as manager does not impress me. England are solid and shoudln’t face too much trouble in Panama or Tunisia.
Group H: Poland, Colombia - hard to see Senegal or Japan beating these two.

I think we’ll have our first back to back WC champs since Brazil in 58 & 62. I think England have a group they’d be incredibly disappointed to not advance from. Would probably have Colombia or Poland in the knockouts. If they advance from that.
