    Why is it?

That when we need quality strikers we seem to be only able to go for players who have had cruciate knee ligament injuries?...Danny Ings now. Why cant we have a whole player? You can almost tell who will be next, just type in crocked serious knee injury players and see what names come up.
WE NEED PROPER STRIKERS AND HAVE TO PAY THE MONEY.

To be fair he's still young, he's scored goals in the premiership. But yes, he is coming off a bad injury.

Question is, who? Who could we reasonably go out and buy who would score goals in the premiership?

Looking at the top goalscorers in the premiership would be out of our league and cost £50m+
Looking at the top 4-5 goalscorers in the championship doesn't fill me with much optimism. We've already had one of them in Vydra. The top scorer is Leon Clarke and I think he failed at Wolves didn't he?

Which means looking abroad, and its always a gamble buying a player who has no prem experience.

I don't necessarily agree we have to pay big money either, our best signings in the last 10 years have been the ones we haven't bought for big money. So hopefully our scouts are doing their job and digging someone up we've not hear of...

Youre quite right....ITS JUST SO DAMN DEPRESSING! ...Anyway We could spend more money in this department...even if £30,000,000 for at least one proven goalscorer. Cant see the point of us buying another bit part player. Someone who holds the ball up well is all well and good but someone who knows where the net is is what we want. 20 shots on saturday..three strikers...No goals.

Danny Ings with one leg is better than Rondon. I can't honestly think of a worse example of a centre forward. Unfortunately now thanks to our Tone we are around the relegation zone which of course makes us a less attractive club to proven strikers.

Lol, actually thanks to Tony we built a solid albeit totally lacking in fire power unit. Lets leave Tony alone eh. Fans got what they want and it all remains to be seen whether Pardew will deliver beyond the romantic air that now seems to pervade the fans.
    We all wait and see.

We've had a lot worse than him mate. Craig Beattie didn't even look like a footballer.
Rondon has nothing to his game. No pace, no strength, cannot shoot, cannot hold the ball up and a fifty pence head. Our moves break down with him. Needs replacing desperately in January . Shoe in for first goalscorer today then.
