    Formation for Liverpool game

Would you play a back 3 Evans ,McCauley and Hegazi. Got to drop Nyon. Up front i would drop 2 off the 3 centre forwards and replace with 2 wingers.

    Trench.

    Sandbags.

    Barbed wire.

    Fixed bayonets.

    Knuckle dusters and entrenchment tools.

    Flamethrowers.

    Machine guns.

    Rocket launchers.

    Mines.

Trip wires with grenades and Claymore mines.

Bullets, lots and lots of bullets.

Tunnels, lots and lots of tunnels.

    Close overhead support.

Might just claim a draw with all of the above.

Anyway, up we get and on we go.

I've still got my StarBadge of Tank from 1958. He wasn't just an Albion Superstar of the time, but he was England's kingpin, and the USSR media nicknamed him "The Torpedo" for the way he crashed through their defence, taking no prisoners. We sold him for a whopping £45k in about '63, which was the equivalent of £45m today (probably).
I'm proud to say I played against him in '76 when he was playing for Ansells Brewery in the B'ham Works League. He must have been in his mid-40s and just generally ran the game from the centre circle, saving his old legs.
These days he'd probably have gone to Man City in his mid 20s, and earned enough in a year not to worry about work, but I believe he got playing for Ansells for many years because he managed one of their Pubs.

No I didn't, I was going for a deep lying static defence with overhead protection.

No need for a tank if the ground troops don't push forward in support and I think we can rule out a Charge of the Light Brigade on Wednesday, especially as we're at least 'half a league' behind in terms of fire power.

We wouldn't want an 'Apocalypse Now' would we?

Sit tight, heads down, break their attacks in the trenches then hit them with the occasional air strike or a rocket over the top.

Of course! He took over from Johnny-on-the-Spot to continue our great years in the 50s.
