    Derby drubbing at Fir Park

Hamilton gave us a goal of a start before they romped to a 3-1 win at Fir Park. Motherwell frittered the game away with a series of defensive errors and an attack with no punch. The purse strings will have to be loosened in January. - External Link

And we managed to get Harley sent off after the final whistle. Looks like he'll be missing for a while.

Thank goodness for the break! Getting sent off after the game is daft, and arguably the most disappointing thing in a disappointing day. We need Cadden, Frear, McHugh (due a decent game or two) and Campbell (forced off the field after a foul) back for the cuptie. And a striker who strikes. We're trying to attack, but there's no cutting edge; reinforcements are required sharpish. I did think that Newell put in a decent shift today; there's at least some promise there.
Will Hartley's inevitable suspension start with the cup game, or is it league only?
Accies were gifted a pen and their second goal today; there's no reason why we can't win the cup game. Onward and upward.

When will 'Nightmare on Fir Park Street' end ? Accept we have injuries and lost our ONLY talisman but we should never have been dependent on ONE player. Too many our signings mediocre and it's now showing. If as suggested resolved with return Frear and McHugh God help us. Add to that Rose .. ask yourself, What did he do before being subbed and I ask same question every game. Hartley red card a disgrace after game and worsens our team selection. He was our best signing !!

We now urgently require players and informed will be addressed January but our downward spiral not attractive proposition. Who will come and who are they ? We’ve had our cup run and look what happened post Rangers Betfred semi … BOOM !
Forget the Scottish Cup and concentrate securing SPL football 2018/19. Lets see how good is Robinson restoring player confidence.

We were awful yesterday and deserved everything we got. That said, Accies were only marginally better and having seen the highlights got the benefit on four (!) penalty calls, three of which came when the game was live.

Our team yesterday, playing the whole season, would get relegated.we can only be grateful that won't be the team we play for the next months but Robinson needs a January similar to what he produced in summer

A poor performance compounded by a bad referee sealed our fate. After a good start our performance rapidly deteriorated. Accies do what they do very well and ran out comfortable winners. Very few passmarks perhaps to Tanner and Newell, and Campbell before he was taken off. We didn't seem to have any gameplan and were content to lob aimless high balls into our rivals' penalty box. too many players simply aren't good enough. Must do a lot better.

Quite a bit for our manager and Board to think about as we enter the new year.

If any other manager/team were on the kind of run we are on just now the manager would get the sack! Robinson has to get the correct players in or he could be out of a job by the end of January. Accies might not have been much better than us yesterday but they did the simple things easily, like having options at throw ins, varying free/corner kicks, fighting for every ball as if it really mattered to them. IMO game changed for us when Campbell limped off but we shouldn’t have to rely on a young fairly inexperienced player getting us through a Derby. Only one team can look forward to the cup tie with optimism and it certainly isn’t us. Rose and Fisher offer absolutely nothing. Think we need to go back to a strict back four and with Hartley suspended I would play Tait,Kipre,McHugh and Hammell. Finished with my last rant of the year so like to wish you all the best for the New Year COYW

I hope that we can do some business near the start of the window. We need the new Jutciewicz / Sutton / Ojamaa / Moult in place before we play the cup / County matches. Just somebody who puts the ball in the onion bag when he should and, every so often, to our surprise. Somebody who'll hammer shots towards the goal, risking the odd sclaff or not seeing somebody better placed. It's perhaps a sign of my diminished confidence, but I think that the County match is of the greater significance now.
It looks as though Griezemann could be on the move. I don't suppose he'd come here?

These are two must win games that couldd efine our season and Robinson's future. Sign some decent strikers and win them and alls fine but if we don't then all hell will break loose.
