    Observations from a Burnley fan.

To kick off, I’m in no way, shape or form gloating about WBA’s impending demise to the Championship, just the opposite actually. For quite a while you and Stoke have been the ‘poster boys’ for maintaining a continuous presence in the PL without posing any threat to the big boys, at the same time not in any real danger of relegation.

Fast forward a season…..what went wrong? As I see it, nothing went wrong other you now have yet another foreign owner who has no clue about footy and fired a manager who knew what it takes to survive. Would Pulis have been able to pull things together, that’s impossible to answer. However my suspicions are yes, he’d find a way.

The point I’m making is: Ignoring the ‘big six’ and to some extent Everton and Leicester, the PL has now reached a state of parity where any of the remaining 12 clubs are in real danger of relegation. My beloved Burnley are over achieving mainly due to a manager and board who ‘sing from the same song sheet’, so to speak. I expect us to finish 10th this season, that’s magnificent considering our resources, but…………will we be relegated next season………that’s a possibility considering the parity within the ‘have not’ clubs.

The quicker the top 6 and the rest of Europe’s elite bugger off and start their own league, the better off, as far as footy is concerned, the rest of us will be.

Good luck going forward, not tomorrow though, Burnley are due for a good showing against you guys.

Good post. Burnley have done well and like ourselves are one of the 12 founder members.

Whatever you do lads, dont mix us Burnsley dingles up with this sneaky lot from Lancashire.

I hope you Baggies can stay up but its not looking good is it, and in fact its looking as bad as our chances are of staying up in the Champship.

Burnley meanwhile have surprised all of us havent they, and I know a lot of their fans on FM and I really admire what they have done as a so called lesser club in the despicable Premship.

If we had dumped Pulis last summer we would have probably been okay now. He wouldn't have saved us if he hadn't gone. Unfortunately Pardew has turned out not to be the answer. We will never know if another manager could have put it right, but what we do know (most of us) is that the mess is down to Pulis.

I know you make your own luck Exilecanada but don’t underestimate how much a bit of luck at the right time plays deciding which of the bottom 12 go down as well.

We have made mistakes with recruitment especially but, like you, last year we finished higher than maybe we deserved because of a few key wins which this year have been draws or losses. The difference between getting 3 points instead of 1 is huge not only in points but also in confidence which is so important.

Everyone in the bottom 12 or so will end up in the bottom 5 at some time, just hope for yourselves that on that occasion it isn’t the bottom 3 because like us, as a proper club I wish you well. Echo your sentiments totally - let the top 6 ‘brand’ clubs go to form a big money league and leave the rest of us to play for the fans not the tv and foreign owners.

Can't argue with anything that you have posted exile. It's such a shame that football has come to this and while I sympathise with your comments regarding the 'big six' joining a super league, it would be sad not to play these sides who we have been competing with for over a hundred years. Foreign owners and Sky TV have a lot to answer for.

Regarding your club, they have done superbly well. Sean Dyche is an excellent manager and I'm also pleased for your head coach Tony Laughlin as he is an ex pupil of mine. Lovely lad. I think I've spelt his surname correctly; always had trouble with it, even when I taught him. Not a bad player himself, although he only used his right foot for running on!

    Hi Exile
You talk about the top 6 going to play in a super league if that did happen, wouldn't it have the same effect with the next biggest or richest club taking up their positions ? just a thought ,
