Hectic start to the day with our original choice of Harrogate R.A v Maltby Main in doubt (and eventually called off).
Sat in Bramah's Wetherspoons in Barnsley from 8.45am, me and Jack trying to find something, somewhere that wasn't gonna fall foul to the weather and hopefully a new tick.
Ashton United looked the best bet and we took the plunge and went for that.
Train from Barnsley to Huddersfield, next train to Stalybridge, rail replacement service from Stalybridge to Ashton then a short bus hop to Hurst Cross and the home of Ashton United.
£10 admission and a cracking tray full of grub for £4.60....Steak Pie, chips, peas and gravy.
Ashton took a 3rd minute lead but Mickleover equalised through ex-Miller Pablo Mills before half time and that's how the scoring ended, but a real pulsating game, not dirty, ended up with 3 being shown the red card (2 Ashton 1 Mickleover)
204 in attendance.
Ground 264 for me and 14 of the current 24 Evo-Stik Premier Grounds ticked off.
