Three signings that would change our team

Been having a look at what is around and who is realistic (given some ambition and effort)

    1- Kyle Bartley
Think this guy is the key to any success we have. He knows the club, he has captained (and on any return I would have him captain again), he has been successful and most importantly he is a damn good defender at this level and has proven it. Probably cost us what 6-8m?

    2- Mitrovic
Now, this might seem far fetched but lets be honest he isn't a premier league player and if Fulham manage to go up they'd hopefully want better meaning he'd be back at Newcastle who also dont want him. He would be perfect for us because again he knows the league, knows where the net is and is a tough forward who doesn't take nonsense from centre backs. Loan deal if possible as I worry how much he'd cost transfer wise.

    3- Marcus Maddison
Creates, scores and most importantly knows the English game. With Peterborough looking certain to not get promoted he is too good for league one and someone is going to snap him and Marriot up so why not us? Probably going to set us back around 5/6m but in this market who the hell knows.

I'd also be very keen on us looking at Joe Bryan the full back at Bristol, he looked brilliant every time I saw them play and Bentley the keeper at Brentford. Also Yiadom/Bradshaw at Barnsley both would be good additions especially Yiadom who is a full back and out of contract.

Reality is we are going to need 3/4 top quality permanent signings with 2/3 really good loans and then a couple of the hopefuls signings from abroad on the 2/3million bracket. Lot of money will need spending and quite a few need getting rid of.

Also depends on who we keep joel

If we kept all the u23s, and ayling berardi debock jansson forshaw alioski Dallas sacko hernandez Saiz lasogga and ekuban from the over 23s, then I think we would need as a minimum a gk, a cb, a cm, and a St, all 4 would need to be at least as good as our current best players if not better. It could be argued that as well as those 4, we might need a lb and a winger too, it will also depend on who our head coach is too coz that will then determine what formation is used.

    Gks stockdale marshall McCarthy
    Dcs Bartley helander flint
    CMs I'm not sure
St's Jaime mata, Federico caputo, or if British maybe grabban who's scored a fair few for 2 clubs this season

    Lbs maybe Bryan or friend
    Wingers I don't know

Head coach either McCarthy or Holloway

Almost impossible to 2nd guess in terms of player recruitment Clive, (although I really hope the rumours re. Bartley are true), but your last comment for me is the key one. Even if we beat QPR the general mood around the club under PH is not good, and the question marks, and associated negative pressure, will be there from the day one of next season if PH is still in charge. And if we then get off to a poor start it's bye bye to any talk of promotion almost immediately, and every likelihood of a horrible struggle of a season, which would be a nightmare. But I'm still not convinced about the best replacement, I think I'd prefer one of the younger prospects like Dean Smith, or maybe even Alex Neil - but obviously there's a huge question mark over whether they'd even want to come.....

I think we all know this summer is going to be pivotal for LUFC for potentially many years to come, and I just hope and pray AR gets it more right than wrong....

totally agree, posters making shopping lists out for radrizaani who we aint got a prayer of signing, just on wages alone, never mind the transfer fees. involved, absolutely clueless

this team, does not just need tinkering with , it needs pulling apart and totally rebuilding again from top to bottom .

back in the real world , and a partridge in a pear tree.

I'd keep Ekuban. Don't think he has had much of a chance and unlike Grot he actually looks like he wants to improve, think some time in U23s would do him a lot of good rebuilding his confidence and seeing what he can actually do.
